I keep seeing these pickup trucks with plows, driving down these perilous side streets, presumably on their way to go plow something. Couldn't they just plow the side street as they're driving? I mean, they're already going that way... I dunno, maybe I'm just annoyed because I always end up snow-blowing and/or shoveling my neighbors' sidewalks because of some innate guilt for actually owning a snowblower. Go figure.
On another note, does anyone else remember Boiler Room? Or moreso, Ben Affleck's pep talk at the beginning of the film...

Certainly , the plow driver could drop the blade as he goes but then there's more to it than that, even beyond the economic reasons for not, there is the huge piles of snow which would have to be dealt with as he traveled the streets. It would take time and money to complete the free effort.
I never felt guilt over or begrudged running the snowblower down the sidewalks. It made it easier for the mailman to get through, but then my neighbors changed and proved that they were willing to always allow someone else to do for them, and the mailman retired. Now I feel no guilt in just running it over my own walk.
I despise this season of snow, rain, and cold.
