Just kidding, gang. I mean, the facts above are all, well, factual, but I'm not as bummed with my lack of progress as you might think. Actually, a lot has happened; it's just been confined mostly to the areas outside of my writing career. How about a bulleted list summarizing the last three years?
- Worked at a library part-time while finishing college
- Submitted my first short for publication
- DJ'ed some weddings and grad parties
- Wrote my first script
- Wrote some short stories
- Won a flash-fiction competition (though I think there may have only been something like seven other entries)
- Received my first rejection letter
- Graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in English
- Excitedly accepted position working for an academic publisher
- Started 2009 with my first big move to a new city
- Got a cat
- Wrote some more short stories
- Submitted a second short for publication
- Came up with the idea for a second script
- Received another rejection letter
- Went on a cruise and met a special lady
- Maintained a long-distance relationship with aforementioned special lady
- Started 2010 with my first big move to a new state (to be with aforementioned special lady)
- Applied for jobs selectively, assuming that I was an exceptional candidate
- Watched savings account dwindle
- Started making stupid videos and posting them to YouTube
- Applied for jobs less selectively, assuming that the economy was to blame for my lack of interviews
- Started writing a new script
- Watched savings account dwindle
- Applied for any and all jobs for which I was qualified and would be reasonably compensated
- Watched savings account disappear
- Began my short-lived stint as a temp
- Watched savings account rise a smidge
- Submitted a third short for publication
- Lightning struck, killing laptop
- Applied for any and all jobs, period
And that pretty much brings us up to now. At this moment I sit in front of my girlfriend's old computer, which I have drug up from the storage closet under the stairs, and I write my first post since my laptop went kaput. As it happens, that little Acer was used to write probably 90% of my posts over the years, so perhaps it means something that it's now gone.
Maybe it's on to bigger and better things.

You're funny. I bet things will look up in the career department. Fate has a way of finding you, if you put in enough effort. (and 100 blogs is pretty time-consuming.)
